This article presents 2 ways to look better in pictures. They are easy
to remember and will help you to present your best side to the world the
next times someone says, ‘Cheese!” Use them whether you are in a group
photo or are taking a headshot for official purposes.
Some
people think they always look terrible in photographs and I think that
this mindset in itself affects how you look in a picture. Whenever you
are taking a photo, don’t let the photographer catch you off guard. For
some strange reason, the men and women who take pictures for driver’s
licenses are pretty good at this. Keep your eye on them so they don’t
catch you when you are squinting.
Your posture is
important, whether the photographer is trying to capture your whole body
or just your shoulders and head. Don’t slouch or stand too stiffly.
Tilt your chin a bit and hold your neck so that it is at its full
length. In my experience, that makes you look slimmer and allows viewers
to see all of your face in the correct proportions.
Don’t tense
up in your shoulders and don’t curve them. Make sure that you pull your
shoulders back so that you appear comfortable and relaxed. Actually, if
you do this, your chest will automatically puff out just a little bit
and make you appear a little more confident. That is always a plus.
